Envest’s lending program enables supporters to make financially sustainable loans which also earn competitive return rates (see below). Your loan provides capital to microfinance institutions who then provide loans to people in need.
Envest chooses its partner institutions carefully, selecting only those with:
- histories of good social performance in their communities and reliable repayment to international lenders
- a rating from an international microfinance rating agency (e.g. Microrate, Microfinanza) or that have been evaluated by a member of the Envest team for financial performance
- compatibility with Envest’s goals of poverty alleviation and environmental sustainability.
